I'm sorry. It's always terrible

I know EXACTLY how that feels.

I'm sorry to hear that friend, you know, you reminded me that when I was 8 years old I had a little turtle called bachi, I loved her very much.

But one day, I saw my turtle, it was dead and it was being eaten by ants.

I cried a lot that day

I'm so sorry. A few of the people in my family either work at or help at a wildlife center, so I understand what it's like to do everything you can for an animal and still lose it in the end. I hope that your other animals get better, or stay healthy if they already are.

It sounds like you've had to carry a lot of pain, in silence, during each one of these loses. And though it can make you strong, it can also wear you down. The lose of an animal hurts so much more because they rely on us for many things, and love unconditionally with no judgment or expectations. And with each lose, it hurts a bit more, and chips away at that strength to handle it a bit more. Until your head, and your heart, hurts.

I am very sorry you have been having to deal with this. And though words cannot make that pain better, I do wish to tell you that you are helping those animals, in any way you can, while you can. And that while they are with you, they know they have been loved and cared for, probably for the first time for many of them. And that makes a difference. Knowing they are safe and loved before they pass on, rather than being afraid, alone and cold.

Maybe you can set up a small memorial spot somewhere in your yard for them. A nice quote or a statue or something to channel that pain into, and leave behind a positive memory of the little lives you have touched.

I wish you the best. I think the fact that there was so much effort put into an innocent being to live compounded the disappointment and grief you felt in the end.
